One of the best of all time and probably underratted too. Some of his work in the NW (notably Anfield ‘into acres of space’) was quite superb. It was? a golden era with the excellent Barry Davies too.
Nope, spot on – Davies doing the voiceover here, and that comm comes from Francis Lee scoring FOR Derby against Manchester City… my brother was at the game and even some Blues were applauding because Franny had been treated so? badly by the club when he left. Opinions of Franny changed somewhat during the 90s, lol.
I buggered up twice there. Firstly, that was Barry Davies, not Gerald Sinstadt. Secondly, it was against Derby County – and I’m a Derby supporter! Still – great commentary moment.? LOL.

“Tonight, we’ll be asking Lawrie McMenemy why he’s? shit.”
Intresting…..very intresting!? Brilliant.
Er, yeah. I’ve confused myself! Loved listening to both Sinstadt and Davies when I was a kid. ? Thanks for posting this gem.
